Essie's not so matte about you...

I've bought two Essie polishes today! :D For the Dutchies - you can buy it at Etos and the colours are about ten/eleven euros and the top coat about twelve. (I haven't got the receipt near me.)

The left one is 1 Blanc and the second one is Matte about you - a matte topcoat.

update: I just applied an other layer on my black thumb and it appears to be a little more matte than before... yay!?

Here's the result. I used Catrice's 320 Back to Black for my right hand's ring finger and my left hand's thumb. I might have to inform you that I had applied the matte topcoat before I took this picture... at least ten minutes before. As you can see, it's not matte.

On my thumb you can see that it just looks a bit softer, but it's still quite shiny. This wasn't what I expected at all! Anyhow, it leaves a kind of nice soft satin finish, but it's not matte...

I looked it up and a lot of people are extremely happy with this top coat. I have to admit, it dries quickly and it feels very nice, but it doesn't show me the matte effect everyone's been talking about! :( I'll have to continue looking for a solution then, since a good matte top coat is quite hard to find where I live...

As you've seen, I also bought the Blanc polish. I just love it! It only took me two thin layers to get to this result and it applied very easily. Maybe I'll buy an other color and a shiny top coat next time!

What do you think of Essie's nail polishes?
